Burner Assembly

The burner is centered at the bottom of the gas tank. Gas is ignited at the burner by the pilot light. The resulting combustion transfers heat to the water , helping to heat up the water inside your water heater. Gas water heaters burn either natural gas or propane (also known as L.P., for Liquid Propane) fuel. The burner screen can be replaced if a hole is found in it, helping restore heat.
